Virgen del Carmen

Sailors celebrate a big festival to honour their patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen, the Cofradía de Pescadores (Fishermen’s Association) organises the different events.

Events: Walk around the streets with music – Holy Mass to honour the sailors’ patron saint - Offering of flowers – Procession along the quay to a boat awaiting the Virgen with a crown of flowers they throw to the sea as a tribute to deceased sailors – At the end, fireworks in the port.
